TheEOCBbitintheADCR0registerisusedtoindicatewhentheanalogtodigitalconversion processiscomplete.Thisbitwillbeautomaticallysetto“0”bythemicrocontrolleraftera conversioncyclehasended.Inaddition,thecorrespondingA/Dinterruptrequestflagwillbeset intheinterruptcontrolregister,andiftheinterruptsareenabled,anappropriateinternalinterrupt signalwillbegenerated.ThisA/Dinternalinterruptsignalwilldirecttheprogramflowtothe associatedA/Dinternalinterruptaddressforprocessing.IftheA/Dinternalinterruptisdisabled, themicrocontrollercanbeusedtopolltheEOCBbitintheADCR0registertocheckwhetherithas beenclearedasanalternativemethodofdetectingtheendofanA/Dconversioncycle. TheclocksourcefortheA/Dconverter,whichoriginatesfromthesystemclockfSYS,isfirstdivided byadivisionratio,thevalueofwhichisdeterminedbytheADCS2,ADCS1andADCS0bitsinthe ACSRregister. TheA/Dconverteroverallon/offcontrolisafunctionofboththeADONBbitintheACSRregister andthePCR7~PCR0bitsintheADCR1registerasshowninthetable.EithertheADONBbit clearedtozeroorthePCR7~PCR0bitssettoazerovaluewillswitchofftheA/Dconverter.These areimportantconsiderationinpowersensitiveapplicationsandmustbetakenintoaccountifpower consumptionistobeminimised.Asthetableillustrates,executionoftheHALTinstructionhasno effectontheA/Dconverteron/offcontrolandsubsequentlyitspowerconsumption. PCR7~PCR0 Bits HALT Instruction ADONB Bit A/D Converter On/Off = 0 x x �ff > 0 x 0 �n > 0 x 1 �ff “x”: Don’t �a�e A/D Converter On/Off Control AlthoughtheA/DclocksourceisdeterminedbythesystemclockfSYS,andbybitsADCS2,ADCS1 andADCS0,therearesomelimitationsonthemaximumA/Dclocksourcespeedthatcanbe selected.AstheminimumvalueofpermissibleA/Dclockperiod,tAD,is0.5μs~10μs,caremustbe takenforsystemclockspeedsinexcessof4MHz.Forsystemclockspeedsinexcessof4MHz,the ADCS2,ADCS1andADCS0bitsshouldnotbesetto“100”.DoingsowillgiveA/Dclockperiods thatarelessthantheminimumA/DclockperiodwhichmayresultininaccurateA/Dconversion values. Refertothefollowingtableforexamples,wherevaluesmarkedwithanasterisk*showwhere, dependinguponthedevice,specialcaremustbetaken,asthevaluesmaybelessthanthespecified minimumA/DClockPeriod. |
